My poem “Calf Creek” plus my son’s artwork published in Verse-Virtual’s March issue

This issue of Verse-Virtual is particularly special for a number of reasons–not only am I honored to be published alongside so many talented and gracious poets, this issue is particularly important because it includes my poem “Calf Creek” accompanied by the drawing my son Skyler created to go along with the poem, as well as the gorgeous poem “Chenin Blanc” by fellow poet Laura M Kaminski in response to my poem “Lonely Soup.”

The drawing and poem are part of a chapbook collaboration entitled Emissions (read it online for free) that we worked on together back in 2012. Calf Creek is a remarkably beautiful place in southern Utah that we have visited several times over the years. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend it. You can photos here.
