My poem "In my mother's mouth" in The Rumpus + NO FEE call for their ENOUGH series, DEADLINE: May 31, 2019

I’m very humbled to have my poem “In my mother’s mouth” published in The Rumpus for their ENOUGH series. Make sure not to miss the other stunning work in this week’s post–poems by Kathleen Hellen and Elana Lev Friedland. ENOUGH is a Rumpus series devoted to creating a dedicated space for essays, poetry, fiction, comics, and artwork by women and non-binary people that engage with rape culture, sexual assault, and domestic violence. The series runs every Tuesday afternoon and highlights different voices and stories each week. You can read more in the archives here.
The Rumpus ENOUGH series is open to women and non-binary people. Women of color and non-binary people of color are especially welcome to submit. Their reading periods for this series are April 1 through May 31 and October 1 through November 30. There is no fee to submit.
“We believe that while this subject matter is especially timely now, it also timeless. We want to make sure that this conversation doesn't stop--not until our laws and societal norms reflect real change. . . . We are especially interested in work that considers who has access to healthcare and to therapy, who has been taught to speak up and who has been taught to be silent, and the ways in which these inequalities make vulnerable populations even more vulnerable. While we support the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, ENOUGH is its own series and we ask that you avoid using these hashtags in your titles and essays unless you are writing a piece that centers around or investigates the campaigns themselves.”
