2 micro-fictions published in The Journal of Compressed Creative Arts

Tremendous thanks to The Journal of Compressed Arts for publishing two micro fictions “Expectancy” and “I Am Meg White.”

These two compressed pieces are lyrical and could be considered prose poems. The first is based on a true story from an interaction I had with my husband and the second focuses on Meg White, who was half the band The White Stripes. You can read more about the pieces by clicking the link at the bottom of the page where it says, “See what happens when you click the link below.”

The Journal of Compressed Arts is a project of Matter Press and publishes work weekly. Submissions are open March 15 to June 15 & September 15 to December 15 and are fee-free. They publish fiction and creative nonfiction, poetry with no line breaks (prose poetry) as long as they are compressed in some way. “For all submitters, we aren’t as concerned with labels—hint fiction, prose poetry, micro fiction, flash fiction, and so on—as we are with what compression means to you. In other words, what form “compression” takes in each artist’s work will be up to each individual.” They are a paying market, quick to respond, and lovely to work with!
