The Iron Pen is an annual competition the Community Writing Center puts on in conjunction with the Utah Arts Festival. They provide a prompt and writers have 24 hours to compose a piece of writing for the genre of their choice. The prompt this year was particularly interesting and I really enjoyed researching and writing about Everett Ruess and the Utah landscape he captured in his artwork.
