I’m pleased to share that my poem “There is a Doppelganger Planet” was published in the first poetry anthology by new press Cicada Song entitled Lost at 27: Musicians, Artists, Mortals, available now on Amazon. It’s an incredible collection of poets paying homage to musicians lost far too soon at the young age of 27. You can read my poem included in the collection as a sample, and other examples on Amazon. Plus, they’ve included a Spotify playlist!

Are you a fan of Kurt Cobain? Does Jim Morrison light your fire? Do you groove to Grateful Dead or pogo to The Gits? The phenomenon known as the 27 Club has baffled people for years. Why have so many talented members of our society died at the tender age of 27? Why have other greats survived that age?
Some died violently, by guns or drugs. Others died of disease or accident. One was murdered by a serial killer. Regardless of how they left this world, these artists have captured our collective hearts.
Music and art have a way of changing our lives. In Lost at 27: Musicians, Artists, Mortals, poets express a deep connection to the artists and their stunning creations. Their words explore the lives, accomplishments, and deaths of many of those who left us too soon.
Remember with us those featured here. We hope you find a favorite—old or new—in this poetry collection.
Cicada Song Press is a new women-run press who “believe in writers who don’t have the money to pay for self publishing, or to enter the ongoing contests. When all that feels mean and impersonal, we believe in family. Our team of editors work with you to better your piece. We’ll find cover art and work with you on publicity – just like a big publisher – but we’re small.” They publish collections of poems, short stories, flash fiction, micro-fiction and other small forms. They are currently open for no fee submissions of novellas or short prose collections until the end of this year, but there will be additional projects open next year, so keep an eye out and follow them!
