Social Justice Writing Contest – $50 Prizes, DEADLINE: March 25, 2016

hotmetalHot Metal Bridge is currently running their social justice writing contest. They “are committed to keeping HMB accessible to everyone, so there is no mandatory fee for this contest.” There is a recommended tip jar donation of $3 for each entry if you are able.

Hot Metal Bridge, the literary magazine created by M.F.A. students at the University of Pittsburgh, publishes two issues annually: fall and spring.”

They are asking poets to send in “your poems that are political acts,” and prose writers to send in nonfiction with topics of social justice or fiction that serves a greater experience, such as modern-day issues and dystopian/utopian stories.
