Today, I’m immersing myself in reading poems to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and listening to my favorite community radio station KRCL streaming online as they play music and speech excerpts in his honor. You can also listen to the entirety of his “I Have a Dream” speech here on NPR.
Below are links to several poems in honor of MLK Day.

I’ve celebrated this beautiful man ever since I was a little girl in the 60’s. My teacher taught us a song to sing, and I sing it every year on Dr. King’s birthday. His entire family is an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing this reading list! Such good choices. I’ve listened to his speech often, and I thank you for the link to do so again. ♥.
Hi Trish: I have a collection of four poems I gleaned from one of Rev. King’s speeches in Philadelphia, “What Is Your Life’s Blueprint?” He quoted from them either whole or in part, some without attribution. May I share them with you?
Sure!
I just posted them to my poetry blog. Sending you a link.
