I’m pleased to announce the International Women’s Writing Guild‘s fall programming for Poetry Palooza! I recently hosted the free kick-off panel with a stellar lineup of poetry advocates, incredible teachers, and poets. If you missed it, it’s not too late to watch the video, hear what we’re up to, and register for workshops, free Friday free-writes and open mics. Plus, a poetry contest in collaboration with Kelsay Books.

Join IWWG with your host Trish Hopkinson for an evening of celebration, literary citizenship, poetry programming, and a poetry contest kick-off event! We’ll be announcing the upcoming poetry programming, including a poetry contest with cash prizes in collaboration with Kelsay Books, and gathering together literary advocates, poetry advocates, and of course poets, to talk about literary citizenship and how to grow and strengthen your poetry community. Panelists include:
Karen Kelsay, founder of Kelsay Books
Karen Craigo, contest judge and past Poet Laureate of Missouri
Erika Dreifus, literary advocate and author of Birthright: Poems (Kelsay Books, 2019)
Kai Coggin, Wednesday Night Poetry host and author of MINING FOR STARDUST (FlowerSong Press, 2021)
Tacey Atsitty, award-winning poet, instructor, and author of Rain Scald (University of New Mexico Press, 2018)
Aris Kian is a poetry educator and ranks #10 in the 2020 Women of the World Poetry Slam
The Guild’s Poetry Palooza is a multiple-month program where you can hone your craft, learn about literary citizenship, and gain insider knowledge on the publishing industry. Whether you’re brand new to poetry or a highly published poet, there is lots to learn in these workshops, open mics, free writes, and more. Plus, several free virtual events (panel and workshops), and a 20% discount for signing up for the full program, which is very reasonably priced.
