berfroisBerfrois – Poetry Prize

DEADLINE: 12/31/14

“Between now and 11:59:59 pm GMT on Sunday December 31, 2014, poets may submit to Berfrois, using its online submission manager, a single, original, poem in English which is not a translation, but may be in any mode or form, up to 300 lines.”

The Society of Classical Poets – 2015 Poetry Competition

DEADLINE: 12/31/2014

PRIZES: $500 & several $100

“Submit three to five poems, each of which does not exceed 50 lines. Please indicate if you are in high school so that you can qualify for the high school prize. The poems must be within the four themes used by the Society (at least one poem must be in the Falun Dafa theme or about the plight of the Chinese people under communism in general).”

Spirit First – 6th Annual Spirit First Poetry Contest

DEADLINE: 1/15/2015

PRIZES: $200, $150, and $100

“Spirit First is pleased to announce its 6th annual meditation poetry contest. Poetry submissions may be of any length and any style but must have a theme of Meditation, Mindfulness, Silence, Stillness, or Solitude (we are referring to peaceful solitude – not loneliness). Poems may reflect any discipline, any faith, or none. Poems must be previously unpublished.”

The Binnacle – Annual International Ultra-Short Competition

DEADLINE: 3/15/2015

PRIZES: Total of $300

“From December 1 to March 15 each year, The Binnacle will accept submissions for its Annual International Ultra-Short Competition (the Fall edition). All submissions are to be no longer than 150 words (not including the title). Poetry entries should be no longer than sixteen lines. All works should have a narrative element. A minimum total of $300 in prizes will be awarded each year. Winners and honorees will be notified early in June. All submissions should be e-mailed to ummbinnacle@maine.edu.”
