This contest slides in just under my $5 fee rule for low/no fee opportunities. Winners take home up to $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for third. This contest is sponsored by the National League of American Pen Women and features a prompt:
The annual Soul-Making Keats Literary Competition consists of thirteen categories and is open to everyone, everywhere. Judges look for original, freshly creative and finely crafted works that embrace all creative interpretations of the statement by English poet, John Keats:
“Some say the world is a vale of tears,
I say it is a place of soul-making”
The contest includes several categories with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for each:

- Short Story

- All prize winners and honorable mentions are announced on the web site and are invited to read from their works at the Koret Auditorium in the lower level of the San Francisco Main Library, Civic Center.
- Submissions by postal mail only.
- Entry fee personal check if from the USA and International entrants send Travelers Check drawn on a USA bank.
