This is such an amazing prize package for a low $8 entry fee! $6.61 from each entry goes directly to a woman in need. All proceeds from the entry fees benefit the Live Your Dream Award, sponsored by SI of Rittenhouse Square, PA, typically given to a single mother who has experienced hardships, to help her pursue her education.
Poets can submit multiple times, but an $8 submission fee is required for each submission. Of the $8 submission, aside from a small portion to pay for submittable fees, the balance goes directly to a woman in need who wants to go back to school. The judges and artist are generously donating their time, labor, and materials.
The winner of The Brittany Noakes Poetry Award will receive 25 broadsides of the selected poem, for a prize package value of $500. Pew Fellowship awardee J.C. Todd will be final judge, and MaryAnn L. Miller, the Resident Book Artist at the Experimental Printmaking Institute, will create the broadsides.
A broadside is a limited edition piece of fine art which will include the text of the winning poem as well as the art it inspires in MaryAnn L. Miller, who has graciously offered to make them. She is donating her time, labor, and materials. Poets typically sell broadsides at readings, and the suggested asking price is $20 a broadside.
