Read your poetry live to a world-wide audience: Every Friday at 10 pm EST

Every Friday night at 10pm EST / 7pm PST tune in online to hear poetry or read your own. This show is in it’s fifith year and you can check out archive shows to see if it’s the poetry forum you’re looking for. (It appears they play music for about the first 30 minutes of the archived recordings, so you may need to skip ahead to the poetry show). The hosts, Michael Amidei and JT Gunter, are experienced and entertaining. Definitely worth a listen!

Tune in online at 10pm EST tonight! (and every Friday)

If you’re going to read your work on the air, there are only a few basic rules:

1. Poems should be 1 to 3 minutes in length

2. No F-bombs

3. No hate speech

You can check out their About page to learn how WPOM got started: “First hitting the air in late 2012, World Poetry Open Mic was conceived as call in platform to provide poets with the ability to share their work with a live audience. The brainchild of Denver area poet J Todd Underhill, the show began when he enlisted his friends Michael Amidei and JT Gunter to assist him with bringing it to reality. After signing on with internet radio station KZKO, WPOM began broadcasting each Friday evening at 8 p.m.”
