Anthology

NO FEE submission call + auction – IWWG Int’l Women’s Day Anthology, DEADLINE: Jan. 15, 2025

Two excellent opportunities from the International Women’s Writing Guild (IWWG).

The International Women’s Writing Guild (IWWG) is proud to host an auction supporting our programs throughout the year, including the Intergenerational Writing Program, which fosters collaboration and mentorship among women writers of all ages. This initiative provides scholarships, free workshops, and the creation of an anthology exploring themes of gender equality and social justice. Proceeds from the auction help amplify diverse voices and support programs like these, which culminate in impactful projects such as the anthology preview at the United Nations in 2025. Join us in empowering creative expression and advancing gender equality.

If you’re not currently a member, consider joining the guild! Mission: IWWG is a network for the personal and professional empowerment of women through writing and open to all regardless of portfolio. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for women to grow as writers, find outlets for their work, and experience the joy of being in a creative community.

History: IWWG was founded in 1976. Now, after 45 years of enriching women writers’ lives, we are still growing and changing with the times. We have a strong membership, monthly e-newsletters, a yearly summer conference, regional events, and anthologies. We have expanded our online workshops and also offer free writes, Open Mics, and writing circles. Together, we’re changing the way women writers’ stories get heard, crafted, and spread around the globe.

This anthology celebrates the spirit of International Women’s Day, reflecting on progress and ongoing challenges in achieving gender equality, 30 years after the landmark Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (at which IWWG presented). We aim to amplify women’s voices while creating a platform for stories that champion empowerment, equality, and justice. We invite work inspired by International Women’s Day and the themes of Beijing +30, including but not limited to: Women’s rights, Empowerment, Intersectionality, Gender equality, Justice, The future of the global women’s movement We encourage personal, cultural, and political reflections that resonate with these themes. Both seasoned and emerging voices are encouraged to contribute.

Book Launch Event: Contributors will be invited to participate in a reading event celebrating the anthology’s release. Join us in amplifying voices, sharing stories, and marking this global milestone.
