Call for Submissions

Summer Journals (open for submissions) via Diane Lockward

A big thank you to Diane Lockward for posting such a great list on her poetry blog! (It’s one less list for me to create.) The list provides links to each journal and reading periods. She recently updated it to include even more journals, so this is a current list!

“I’ve also indicated the number of issues per year, the submission period dates, which journals accept simultaneous submissions, and which ones accept online submissions.”

A few may have fees and she has indicated such next to those, but there might be others. It appears that most do not. Enjoy! Happy summer submitting!

Diane Lockward is the editor of a new craft book: The Practicing Poet: Writing Beyond the Basics. She is also the author of four poetry books, most recently The Uneaten Carrots of Atonement. Her poems have appeared in Harvard Review, Southern Poetry Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. Her work has also been featured on Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, American Life in Poetry, and The Writer’s Almanac. She is the founder publisher of Terrapin Books.

  1. Thanks for this post! I liked what I saw on her blog, so I bought The Crafty Poet. A couple of hours later, I bought The Crafty Poet 2. I can see there’s a TON of work ahead of me, but I love her approach to poetry and I love the poets she chose. Thanks again!
