I couldn’t be more honored to be invited as a feature poet for the Open Bard Poetry Series at The Sherbino in Ridgway, CO next Thursday evening. Special thanks to Kierstin Bridger for coordinating the event. If you’re in the area, please come by and say hello!
I’ll be reading from my most recent chapbook Footnote published by Lithic Press, and will have copies to sign for those who’d like one.
Now in its fourth season, the series takes place on first Thursdays, October through May. It features a different nationally or regionally known Colorado poet as the featured performer each month. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the reading starts at 6:30 p.m. Each session concludes with an open reading for community poets.
Refreshments and libations are available for purchase. Tickets are $5 for adults; all students are teachers free. A "bard card" is offered during October, November, and December; a cool $20 gets you a series pass for all eight months.
The evenings are suitable for adults, high school students and possibly mature middle school students. Local students and teachers are especially encouraged to attend and participate in the readings.
The Open Bard Poetry Series is sponsored by the Ouray County Performing Arts Guild, Ridgway Chautauqua Society, Ouray Library and Ridgway Library. It is directed by poets Kierstin Bridger and Beth Paulson.
