Some amazing work happening in the literary community in Utah this year, with an explosion of incredible events and moments during National Poetry Month. It was an honor to read with friend and fellow poet Jennifer Tonge at the Finch Lane Gallery in downtown Salt Lake City on April 11. Tremendous thanks to the Artists of Utah and the Salt Lake City Arts Council for this opportunity. It was a lovely evening, with friends and new faces, and, if you’re not local or missed the event, you can hear the reading as well as the conversation/Q&A after via this podcast graciously made available online by 15 Bytes: Utah’s Art Magazine regular series The 1-5-B. Special thanks to host and emcee Calvin Jolley.
p.s. It’s possible I read my new long poem “Quentin Tarantino Loves the Grateful Dead” 🙂
15 Bytes is an online art magazine and features artists and authors living in Utah. It’s published by Artists of Utah, a non-profit organization headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. “The organization was created to serve as a communication nexus for Utah’s visual arts community. We are made up of artists, art professionals and art lovers and exist to bring the same together in an attempt to foster interaction, education and imagination. Our principle tool for doing this is the internet, which serves to bring together members of the visual arts community from across the state. Our website, www.artistsofutah.org, is continually expanding in an attempt to give greater voice to a wider community of individuals and organizations.”
